Photography Policies

I’m so excited to work with you! These policies are here to keep the booking and creative process clear and seamless from beginning to end. By booking a session with Morella Avenue, clients acknowledge and agree to the following policies.

Booking & Payment

A non-refundable deposit is required to officially reserve your shoot date. Your date is not considered booked until the deposit has been received.

The remaining balance and payment schedule will be outlined in your individual proposal, invoice, or booking confirmation. Depending on the project, the remaining balance may be due prior to or on the day of the shoot.

Deposits are applied toward the total session fee but are non-refundable.

Rescheduling & Cancellations

If you need to reschedule, please reach out as soon as possible. Rescheduling is subject to availability and may require a new deposit depending on the circumstances and amount of notice provided.

Deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

Any non-refundable expenses already incurred specifically for your production—including studio reservations, equipment rentals, permits, assistants, or other third-party costs—remain the client’s responsibility.

Session Time & Additional Coverage

Your booking includes the amount of shooting time outlined in your package or proposal.

Please arrive prepared and on time. Late arrivals may reduce available shooting time, as sessions cannot always be extended due to studio reservations or other bookings.

Additional coverage, looks, setups, locations, products, talent, or other requests outside the originally agreed-upon scope may require an additional fee.

For commercial and brand productions, significant changes to the agreed scope may require an updated estimate.

Image Selection

The number of finished images included with your session will be clearly stated in your package or proposal.

When applicable, clients will receive a proof or preview gallery to select their included final images. Proof images are provided for selection purposes and are not considered finished photographs.

Additional edited images beyond the amount included in your package may be purchased separately.

Editing & Retouching

All final photographs receive Morella Avenue’s standard editing process, which may include color correction, exposure adjustments, cropping, tonal adjustments, and other refinements consistent with my photographic style.

Detailed retouching—including extensive skin retouching, clothing adjustments, object removal, background manipulation, wrinkle removal, compositing, or other substantial Photoshop work—is not automatically included unless specifically stated in your package.

Additional retouching requests may be quoted separately depending on the image and level of work required.

RAW & Unedited Files

RAW files and unedited photographs are not included in standard photography packages.

Your photography package covers the specific number of finished images listed in your proposal or booking confirmation. Photographs captured throughout a session are part of the creative process and should not be assumed to be included simply because they were photographed.

For select projects, RAW files may be available for purchase as an additional deliverable. Availability and pricing are determined on a project-by-project basis.

When RAW files are purchased, they are delivered as-is and unedited. Purchasing RAW files does not include additional editing, retouching, color correction, file preparation, or conversion unless otherwise agreed upon.

Test shots, accidental exposures, corrupted files, flash misfires, technically unusable photographs, or other non-deliverable captures are not guaranteed as part of RAW file delivery.

If a client would like additional photographs professionally edited after receiving RAW files, those edits may be purchased separately.

Turnaround Time

Standard turnaround is typically 1–2 weeks unless otherwise stated in your proposal or booking confirmation.

Commercial productions, weddings, events, high-volume projects, and projects requiring extensive retouching may have different delivery timelines.

If you have a specific delivery deadline, please communicate it before booking. Rush delivery may be available for an additional fee depending on availability.

Galleries & File Storage

Final photographs are delivered through an online gallery or another agreed-upon delivery method.

Clients are responsible for downloading and safely backing up their photographs after delivery. Online galleries are not intended to serve as permanent file storage.

For particularly large deliveries, including purchased RAW files, clients may be asked to provide sufficient cloud storage or an external storage device for file transfer.

Creative Style

By booking Morella Avenue, you are hiring me based on the photographic and editing style represented throughout my portfolio.

This includes my approach to lighting, composition, posing, color, cropping, image selection, and editing.

References and inspiration are always welcome, but exact replication of another photographer’s work or a reference image cannot be guaranteed.

Commercial & Brand Usage

Unless otherwise stated, personal portrait sessions are licensed for personal use only.

Brand, corporate, advertising, product, campaign, editorial, or other commercial photography may require a separate usage license based on the intended use of the photographs.

Commercial usage may consider factors including placement, duration, territory, paid advertising, social media, web and email, retail, third-party retailers, print, out-of-home advertising, and other forms of distribution.

Usage beyond the terms originally agreed upon may require additional licensing.

Copyright

Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, Morella Avenue retains the copyright to all photographs created.

Purchasing a photography session, finished photographs, or RAW files does not automatically transfer copyright ownership.

Clients receive the usage rights outlined in their individual agreement or package.

Portfolio Usage

Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, Morella Avenue reserves the right to use photographs created during a session for portfolio, website, social media, publication, promotional, and other self-promotional purposes.

If your project requires confidentiality, an embargo, or restrictions on portfolio usage, please communicate this before booking so those terms can be discussed.

Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for communicating any important requirements, deadlines, must-have photographs, usage needs, accessibility considerations, or production requirements before the shoot.

For brand and commercial projects, unless otherwise included in the proposal, the client is responsible for coordinating talent, wardrobe, styling, hair and makeup, products, props, locations, permits, and other production elements.

Final Agreement

Individual proposals, contracts, invoices, or written agreements may contain project-specific terms that supplement these general policies. If a project-specific written agreement differs from a general policy listed here, the terms of the project-specific agreement will apply.

By submitting a deposit or booking a session with Morella Avenue, you acknowledge the policies applicable to your booking.
